I really do want to be proud, but this report is foolishly optimistic. Those nearly 30,000 jobs are all new pickings in the auto sector—a sector which hasn’t exactly reinvented itself since it sputtered and broke down. It also remains that Michigan has no other industry either. Meaning that in another 5-10 years, what’s the stop this same industry from imploding yet again?
