HyunA, “Bubble Pop”

This is my #10 jam of the year. I’m well aware it isn’t in English and that doesn’t matter. A bunch of people on BuzzFeed agree, too! The groove is so infectious that I’ve nearly walked into oncoming traffic on many Lower Manhattan streets, like Canal Street, the Bowery, and probably Bleecker too at some point. But let’s break down its amazingness:

• Big bouncy horns section? Check
• Perky popstrel donning slutty hipster couture? Check
• Catchy hooks? Check
• Way too many colors? Check
• Obligatory back-up dancers? Check
• Comic book motif randomly chucked into the middle of the video? Check
• Epic dub-step breakdown? Check

This was basically the single that Britney wished she had recorded when she gave us “Hold It Against Me.”
