Melanie C, “Think About It”

This is my #6 jam of the year. She is on this list because after a career of sophmoric pop-rock songs so bland that John Mayer records begin sounding quirky in comparison, Melanie C finally added some long-lost Sporty Spice kick into her career. Each part of this pop song is rather wonderful—the verses, the chorus, the bridge, and especially the bridge. I’m glad that 14 years after the Spice Girls blew my mind, one of them is still capable of making brilliantly frothy, fun, danceable pop music.
