Bextor’s syndrome

Med. a syndrome afflicting British female solo artists, characterized by a persistent inability to release album-length material and promote it properly; spec. a condition of unknown origin (though sometimes occurring after the release of a single that charts outside of the top 75) characterized by debilitating and ceaseless recording for an album with no set release date, and any of a variety of other non-specific symptoms such as pregnancy and/or the acquisition of a modelling contract in lieu of fulfilling record label obligations; see also Donaghy’s lurgy and Murphy’s disease
