Have those marketing geniuses behind Aol.’s rebranding thought about how the period at the end of Aol. ruins the continuity of any sentence it’s mentioned in?

I imagine they were in on the joke. “Aol.—it’s the beginning of the end. No, not of the sentence. For the company!” And then they cackled as they ate their crudites. Marketing geniuses love their crudites.
