Notes from the Röyksopp show.
• Several people were dancing by raising a single hand, stretching out a finger, and flicking their wrists. This gave the impression that they were trying to shake some water off their hand and propel it into the air.
• The band was nothing short of marvelous. Just astounding. Easily one of the best shows I’ve seen. Webster looked packed, so I’m pleased that they got such a brilliant turn-out. Thank you for the spare ticket, Jordan.
• A man was trying to wedge himself between me and the man in front of me. I thought perhaps he had mistaken Webster Hall for Mr. Black, but then he turned out to be straight and shot me the dirtiest glare. I elbowed him and told him sternly that he was pressing up against my stomach and needed not to do that. It was all very awkward.
• Robyn did not turn up to sing lead vocals on this tune…
• …but the band with their designated lead singer (blanking on her name!) did do Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights” and my, did they nail it!
• The last six or so minutes was an excellent dance party.
• Pop music may never get any better than this.
